“I’m a Genius! Who Knew?”

Hello I Am A Genius - So Are You!

Hello I Am A Genius – So Are You!

I am sitting here at the Apple Bar with Jason the “Genius”. He is deftly juggling 2 clients with 5 devices at once, seamlessly.

Jason is;

  • engaging,
  • relaxed,
  • intelligent,
  • knowledgeable
  • with a great sense of humour.

After a moment, it occurred to me, I am all of those things, too.

Does this make me a genius as well? Why not!

Looking up genius I found (according to Google)

1) …exceptional, intellectual, or creative power or other natural ability.

2) a person who is exceptionally intelligent or creative either generally or in some particular respect.

Wow, I AM a “Genius”! Woot! Woot!

I bet after reading this, you now know you area “Genius” too, right?

If you question this even a wee bit, ask yourself this.

Have you worked long and hard learning a skill in a particular field or area of your work? Maybe for 5, 10 or even 30+ like me?

Have you been working diligently passing on that expertise to others?

I don’t have to personally articulate this “Genius” to my clients, but it’s just nice to know.

Let’s celebrate knowing this about you and me!

With Warmth and Laughter, Tam

I really like this, because it is a good perspective to have and to keep. I think that we too often (myself included) compare ourselves to others and not stop and think about our own abilities. Not to be prideful, but just to appreciate ourselves as we are.

Hi Jordan, my apologies for letting this slide. Thank you for your post. Yes it is too easy to get caught up in the comparison game where we are bound to come in second. Self-appreciation is a celebration for one. Sharing it with a loved one says we own it. Going on and on can be boastful and down right annoying if you are on the receiving end. Self-awareness is the key in all of this. Be proud of the person you have come to be so far knowing you are far from done as you are still alive. Time to keep re-creating yourself to who you are meant to be. 🙂
