“I’m a Genius! Who Knew?”

I am sitting here at the Apple Bar with Jason the "Genius". He is deftly juggling 2 clients with 5 devices at once, seamlessly. Jason is; engaging, relaxed, intelligent, knowledgeable with a great sense of humour.   After a moment, it occurred to me, I am all of those things, too. Does this make me a genius as well? Why not! Looking up genius I found (according to Google) 1) ...exceptional, intellectual, or creative power or other natural ability. or 2) a person who is exceptionally intelligent or creative either ... I have learned to always try “one more time”

I have done many things and not done even more. Some of them were things I "tried" then failed. Maybe I was not invested, or even believed that I would fail before I started. But the things that were successful, were all worthwhile because I did them. They didn't have to be "change the world" things, just maybe "change me" a little things. Like losing weight, or reading something positive daily or even writing a blog. Stuff I did then forgot ... Read more

Stand Up To Yourself

Have you let yourself off the hook too easily? “Stand up for yourself!” This statement was used by someone who thought they were encouraging a meek or quiet person who was being bullied in some form or another. To stand up to yourself is another thing altogether. For some of us there is two differing thoughts on occasion; the one for us and possibly one against us. The negative part of your self that seems to work against everything your true and whole ... Read more

How well are you leading your employees?

All leaders have had leaders at one time or another. I bet you can name the good ones as well as the...not so good ones off the top of your head. Which one are you? Employee engagement may be the best barometer to assess how well you are leading in your position. According to American and Canadian statistics, less than 20% of employees are truly engaged at work. Between 60-70% are not engaged at all with the balance somewhere in between. ... Read more

December is a time to Reflect, Learn and Plan

December can be a diverse month depending on the business you are in. Some businesses say they do amazingly while others complain of poor profits and sales. I don’t know what your normal is, but there are things that you can do to change your 2015 year starting right now! It is best to see where you have been so you can plan where you want to go. First we start with Reflect and Learn. Think about your year right from January ... Read more

Are you good enough?

I just want to start by saying (with not much humility) I just completed several exams where my abilities were assessed by Master Certified Coaches as “good enough” to receive my PCC or Professional Certified Coach for the ICF otherwise know as the International Coach Federation, the first and largest Association of Coaches worldwide! This is a HUGE achievement for any coach and most don’t do it because it is scary!  There are 3 levels of certification, ACC Associate Certified Coach (150+ hrs client coaching), PCC ... Read more

My Travels

Some of you know that I have been flying back and forth to California in October and November. I believe in education that both feeds me but also to build a body of knowledge that will support my clients in the best possible way. The first event I went to was to educate myself on a money process that talks to Money Archetypes. This was an incredible 3 day event that helped me understand my money process and how I deal ... Are you PRESENT?

Remember the times when the teacher did roll call in class and the answer after your name was called was “present”? You were fairly present at the moment you heard your name. I don’t know about you, I was somewhere else for most of high school. Today BEing present actually shows up by participating in the moment you are in, completely. Multi-tasking be damned, just doing one thing at a time and not wandering off in body or mind to another task, ... Read more

Are you grounded, floating or spinning?

There have been days as of late that I find myself standing in the middle of a room spinning. Not the kind you do as a kid with your arms wide looking up to the sky with puffy clouds and the sun peaking through. The kind where you can’t decide what to do next. I do know that this is temporary. My environment is not optimal at the moment with moving boxes everywhere and none of my “STUFF” anywhere nearby or ... Read more

Keep it Simple

The weekend is near and more boxes to be packed. There is much inconvenience to putting things out of reach. I have already gone in search of things packed away so I am resistant to do much more too early so this does not become a new ritual. Convenience is something we all want in everything we do. We want everything at our fingertips. The ideal kitchen would have a million cupboards with nothing two deep. You would not have to move ... Read more
